PROJECT DESCRIPTION
“This backyard takes a more layered approach to outdoor living, using changes in elevation to create distinct spaces for swimming, lounging, dining, and gathering without separating them from one another.
The pool sits within a raised setting framed by bold, dark tile that immediately gives the space its own character. Wide steps transition between levels, while integrated planters and palms soften the hardscape and bring a tropical element into the otherwise contemporary design.

A large sunshelf with in-water loungers creates a dedicated place to relax, while the surrounding elevated areas provide plenty of room for seating and entertaining. Nearby, a built-in fire feature creates a separate gathering area and gives the backyard another reason to be used after sunset.
The screened enclosure allows the entire environment to function as an extension of the home, while multiple umbrellas and covered areas provide shade throughout the day. As evening arrives, the combination of fire, water, and integrated lighting changes the character of the space completely.
Rather than one large open deck, this project creates a series of connected destinations—giving family and guests different ways to enjoy the backyard while keeping everything centered around the pool.
